1O1O Rocks The Peak With iPhone 4 Party Launch

Friday 30 July 2010 9:56 am

CSL rolled out the stars and the buffet for the iLaunch.

Where Smartone-Vodafone went for quantity, CSL 1O1O went for quality for their iPhone 4 party launch last night.

Shuttling up 200 of their VIP’s to Cafe Deco on The Peak, 1O1O went for a Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve type launch with countdown, electric ball and all!

It was the standard launch party with dancers, movie stars and models. Douglas Yeung, Janis Chan, Alex Fong, Tarek Robbiati, Group Managing Director of Telstra International, Chief Executive Officer of CSL Limited Joseph O’Konek, Ana R., William Tang and Sharon Cheung host the kick-off ceremony in this photo.

At least from the 3 operators parties’ we went to that CSL knows how to throw on a classy party (SMV gave out McDonald’s, CSL had a huge Cafe Deco buffet) for their VIPs and the media. They even went out and invited a bunch of tech bloggers and gave away a bunch of great gifts to us.

Even an iPhone 4?!

Darn! Not quite but still good fun:

Ah, finally the real thing in hand at 12:12am:

Some photos from the party:

Here is our video of the countdown:

And here we are with the iPhone 4 in hand and finally exposing Antennagate ourselves:

Either 1O1O has some amazing reception on The Peak or the antenna issue isn’t going to affect us in Hong Kong that much! We’d love to hear if anyone else is having the supposed antenna issues from any of the other operators.

And here are the “regular” CSL folks in Causeway Bay in line at midnight:

  2. I loved the robot dancing girls…not sure what it had to do with iPhone though.

They should have had a bunch of guys dressed like Steve Jobs come out and do the robot – now that would have been awesome!
