If this is the kind of hottie fighting Terminators, we say let them come!
Moon Bloodgood, what a beautiful name for such a hot lady or sexy vampire. You’ll probably not recognize her from her role in Terminator Salvation because she is definitely in the trenches against the robot uprising, but here we want to spotlight her softer sexier side.
The 33-year old Dutch-Korean actress and model was born in the United States and was a Laker Girl before getting movie roles in films like Pathfinder, What Just Happened and Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li. You’ve probably seen her on TV in supporting roles in CSI, Fastlane and Journeyman.
Her breakout role is as Lt. Blair Williams in this week’s Terminator Salvation, the 4th in the series. You can tell from her mixed Asian heritage looks and numerous appearances in the Maxim Top 100 that she “will be back!” More “terminatingly” sexy photos below:
Thinking of buying the HTC Magic? Read this first!
HTC announced to us that the Magic, Hong Kong’s first Android powered phone would be on sale in the next week across the city. Today Google comes out and tells everyone that they expect at least 18, maybe 20, phones that will run the Android OS by the end of the year:
Andy Rubin, senior director for Mobile Platforms for Google and the spearhead of the Android operating system, said the number could be as high as 20. (That figure does not include devices made by manufacturers that use a basic Android system but have not apprised Google of its use). The 18 to 20 devices Google knows about will be made by eight or nine different manufacturers, Mr. Rubin said.
He declined to say which manufacturers will make said phones or for which wireless carriers. At present, there are at least two Android-centric phones — T-Mobile’s G1 available in the United States and a phone called “Magic” made by HTC and available in Europe.
Mr. Rubin said that, in general, carriers will be slower in the United States to introduce Android phones than in Europe. The reason, he said, is that the domestic market is so competitive that carriers and handset makers want to create highly distinctive versions of the Android phone to give themselves an edge.
We already posted the news on Samsung’s i7500 model, Acer has said they will make one and we know Motorola hired a bunch of Android developers so we’re pretty sure that every mobile phone company except Nokia will have at least one. So if the Magic’s very steep HK$4680 launch price is too high for you, you can bet there’ll be more less-costly options coming down the pipe soon. With so much selection and price points in the smartphone market this year, do yourself, your friends and loved ones a favor and make sure none of them purchase a Windows Mobile powered phone
If you can decipher the Singlish (we kid!) you can watch this review from Cnet Singapore on the Samsung Android phone:
And with the launch of the 1.5 OS update for Android coming very soon, you can watch this video and see some of the changes they made (to a phone we never saw in Hong Kong to begin with) to the 1st gen Android:
Still not sold? Hope this brings you a bit closer to Yo Joe Goodness!
We Twittered this yesterday, but we loved it so much we’re posting it today to make sure you see it. This is the official international poster for the G.I. Joe live-action movie hitting Hong Kong on August 6, 2009.
If we need to point out the names of the characters on this poster, specifically the girl in black at the top with the sunglasses or the dude all in black at the bottom right, then most likely you are too young to remember the cartoon series its based on and the movie will live and die on its own merits.
While the rest of us that do know each of these characters, will most likely give the movie a “bye” no matter what its like because of its finally here! Yes its great to see Optimus Prime come to life albeit completely warped from the way we saw him in over 100 episodes of the animated series in the first Transformers live-action movie, but it will be a fanboy dream come true to finally see Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow go head to head in live-action. How many nods to the cartoons will there be? We hope at least as many as they did in Iron Man. If not, we just hope they touch on all the cool stuff we remember and add in new high-tech weapons and keep Marlon Wayans dialogue to a minimum (they should have cast him as Snake-Eyes!) and we should be happy camper no matter how naive that may sound considering the chop suey job Hollywood did on X-Men Origins: Wolverine and yes the director is the same guy who made Van Helsing.
We posted the trailer before, so here is a great video from IGN that shows who has been cast as each of the Joe characters:
The pre-order for Hong Kong’s first Android phone is now on, but without an exact date (are they trying to mess with Palm and Apple?) The suggested price is HK$4,680.
SmarTone–Vodafone is the first Hong Kong mobile operator partner of the HTC Magic but apparently they are not the exclusive place to get it as the device will also be sold in Broadway, Citicall, CTM Macau and Fortress.
Of course the data plan is what you need to fully utilize the Android OS, but at least you won’t be tied down to a contract if you don’t want to be.
And if you pre-order the phone, HTC has a phone strap (?) and a back protector for you. Photos of the HTC Magic in the wild for you here. Gift shots and ad shown below:
Even though Terminator: Salvation opens tomorrow in Hong Kong, we are definitely more excited for next week’s Star Trek re-boot. But that doesn’t mean we don’t love the original any less. In fact, now is a great time to get reacquainted with the original movies in this new Blu-ray box-set.
Available for around $500 from HMV, is the Star Trek Motion Picture Trilogy which boxes up Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan, The Search for Spock and The Voyage Home – the 2nd, 3rd and 4th movies that make an actual full story since The Motion Picture has a stand-alone story (That second title deflating the amazing ending of the first). If you haven’t seen them before, or haven’t seen them in a long time, now is the time to beam back on board before we get transported to J.J. Abrams new Enterprise next Thursday.
Reviews for the trilogy box set can be found here, here and here.
