Guinness is celebrating 250 years this September, believe it or not, and on the way to this historic landmark in beer history, they are releasing a special variant beer to mark the occasion. The interesting part here is that Hong Kong is one of only 3 market’s getting this special brew. Australia and the U.S., are the other 2! That pretty much says that Hong Kong is probably the largest consumer of Guinness in Asia.
To commemorate this remarkable anniversary, Hong Kong has become one of the three markets where GUINNESS 250 Anniversary Stout is being made available. The limited edition release will be available in the third quarter of 2009 in Hong Kong for a limited period. The commemorative stout is carbonated, not nitrogenated like the traditional GUINNESS Draught.
A bunch of pub events are going to be taking place throughout the Summer, no doubt at two of Hong Kong’s most infamous Irish pubs: Dublin Jack’s and Delaney’s! The new website is up now promoting this occaision so head on over and get into the Guinness. Will the Black Eyed Peas be coming back to Hong Kong to promote this? We’ll let you know.
Googley goodness is finally served up fresh with the HTC Magic.

Very exciting news for Hong Kong as the smartphone wars heat up, as you’ll have to choose between this exciting new Android phone, the Palm Pre or the next Apple iPhone – because if you aren’t using a smartphone by the end of the year you’ll be missing out.
SmarTone hasn’t given us an official date yet – but we are guessing it as June 8th, but we’ll update our calendar when we get the official word. Click through to HTC’s site here to see all the specs. Smartone provided features are listed below:
Sometimes it takes an American to lighten up an English classic.
We don’t normally want to showcase movies that are a ways away from coming out, but in lieu of no Iron Man 2 until next year, we’re happy to announce that Robert Downey Jr is bringing the goods back with the Guy Ritchie-directed Sherlock Holmes as one of the big December 25th movies this year. Which, even with the over-used slo-mo fight footage, again proves that Downey is the only special effect needed in a movie.
Thanks again to Jon Favreau for bringing Downey back to the mainstream. Now all we need in the sequel is to have Downey’s Holmes take on Johnny Depp’s Captain Sparrow and then you’ll have a real motion picture spectacle.
Canon has released many Digital SLR cameras, but which one is right for you?
The Canon 450D, 500D, 50D– they all sound alike, but which one is better? You might think, “Oh, 500D is the biggest number, so it must be the best.” However, that’s really not the case. Let’s take a look at how these three cameras really stand against each other.
First up is the Canon EOS 50D. The name can be misleading; though it has the smallest number, it’s actually the most powerful one out of the three. It features a powerful 15.1 mega-pixel sensor that’s covered with a self-cleaning fluorine solution, so you won’t have to worry about dust ruining your pictures. Also, the DIGIC 4 processor is fast enough to support 6.3fps of continuous shooting, and can shoot in bursts up to 90 JPEGs with an UDMA card. Last but not least, it comes with a powerful 3.0 VGA LCD display, so you can view your pictures at the highest quality possible. Because of it’s powerful features, this cameras sells for an expensive HK$9,280 for the body alone.
Don’t you just hate it when you want to unplug something, but don’t know which plug is which? Well, we sure run into this problem a lot. Every time we want to unplug something, we always have to find the device itself and trace the cord to the correct plug.
Well, the problem is now solved. A company called Cordotz have just released 3 different products for organizing your cords. They have identifiers to label your plugs, cord straps to strap up your excessive cord, and cord wraps to hide your cord all together!
We love the idea that Cordotz thought of, and would definitely think about getting them ourselves. If your computer desk is like ours, with a huge mess of cords underneath, we’d say that Cordotz are a great way to start getting organized.
You can get a set of 10 identifiers, 8 reusable cord straps, or 1 cord wrap for US$9.99/HK$78on the website!
