Sony Ericsson releases their T715 slider phone into the market. This phone is obviously for a mid-range market since the features seem to be a bit on the light side compared to the phones we’ve been covering over the past few weeks.

It does look nice and it’s got bluetooth and all the other standard features a mobile phone must have these days:

  • Elegant and compact slider – looks sophisticated no matter what the setting
  • Large keypad and font size – get the most out of your SMS or email management
  • 3G network connection – quick and easy internet browsing
  • Large 2.2” screen – even in direct sunlight
  • Smart desktop and birthday reminders – organize your life in an intuitive way
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with Photo light – perfect pictures no matter what the lighting conditions

The T715 will be available in Hong Kong in Q3 2009. In the video below you get a better idea of the size and exactly who Sony is targeting with this type of phone:

Monday. 29 June. 2009. 10:37 am

Is it another hit for Michael Bay or his worst movie ever?

skids-and-mudflap2-450x367

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen came out in Hong Kong last Wednesday. We didn’t bother to write a full review on this movie because basically we know that everyone is going to see it no matter what. If you liked the first one most likely you will somewhat enjoy the sequel.

So we’re turning the review responsibilities to our readers. Did you see it in a regular 35mm cinema or did you traipse out to Megabox to see it in IMAX (Which we hear is sold out for the next few weeks)? Were you offended by the 2 robots above? Not enough Megan Fox? Want to kill Shia LeBoef? Easily just pick one choice from the poll below or type out a few words, we want to hear from you.

What did you think of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

Microsoft Announces Windows 7 Hong Kong Upgrade Plan

Monday. 29 June. 2009. 9:42 am

How to upgrade to Windows 7 in Hong Kong.

windows71

It’s great when a big company realizes they made and released such a crap product (in this case Windows Vista) that they are willing to take action on the next one. With Windows 7 Release Candidate (Micro-speak for “beta” and you can still download it here) getting great reviews, it looks like a return to form for the PC operating system.

So what Microsoft is doing with Windows 7 is that from now until the official launch in Q4 of 2009 if you buy a new a new PC with a OEM version of Vista on it, or an actual copy of Windows Vista you will get a special deal to upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out. Those that have Vista Home Basic or XP are SOL though.

The 3 ways to upgrade are:

  1. Pre-Installed on branded computers: The manufacturer like Acer has some deal with Microsoft and will have their deal offered to you. The fee to you will be charged by the manufacturer.
  2. OEM PC’s: An upgrade coupon will come inside the product and no additional fee is needed.
  3. Box set: When you register your product you will be alerted when you can be upgraded for an additional HK$150

You can get more details here in Chinese from the Microsoft Hong Kong site and in English here.
