In the spirirt of the Comic-Con International that starts today in San Diego, we bring you this inspired by the Batpod scene from The Dark Knight product. Universal Designs, decided that the motorcycle driving public needed to look as much as Batman as possible, and have therefore come up with the ultimate licensed product: The Batman Motorcyle Outfit.

  • Strong Cordura Mesh Base with Heavy-duty 4 way stretch Spandex inserts.
  • Removable CE Approved Body Armor in both Jacket and Pants
  • Highly detailed, removable lightweight interior lining.
  • Form Molded Leather and Kevlar Armor Sectons.
  • Made from Quality Tanned Cow Hides

This thing is the top-of-the-line product from this company. They have regular motorcycle leather jackets featuring Heath Ledger’s Joker for US$389, so we’re expecting this full Batman outfit to cost around US$800. There is really only one thing left to say: What does the helmet look like?

Nike+ SportBand Takes Exercise to the Digital Extreme

Show-off your best running times on Facebook…from your wrist!

nike Nike+ SportBand Takes Exercise to the Digital Extreme

You have to hand it to Nike, they make exercising exciting even for geeks and bring high-tech to the usually low-tech.

The Nike+ SportBand give runners real-time performance feedback on their distance, pace, time and calories burned with just a glance at their wrist. Runners who enjoy listening to music may continue to hear their run details through the Apple iPod nano, iTouch or iPhone systems. The Nike+ SportBand will be available now with a suggested retail price of HK$500.

It just doesn’t stop there, at nikeplus.com they’ve added many new features and social media opportunities including:

  • Personalization: The new navigational system includes a customizable homepage for members providing at-a-glance views of your training, progress in goals and challenges, and your Nike+ Mini. Now runners can personalize every run to illustrate their mood, weather, terrain, route and more.
  • Find Your Friends: Runners will now be able to search for like-minded and similarly-skilled runners, accept new friend requests and initiate challenges in conjunction with their favorite social media platforms. And because no good run should go unpublished, runners can broadcast their own successes beyond Nike+, with automatic updates to Facebook status, Twitter feeds and much more.
  • New Shoe Finder: This feature asks runners to answer a few simple questions in order to receive a customized shoe recommendation based on the latest shoe technology.

Facebook and Twittering during our morning jog? Is this too much? Usually we jog to get away from the computers and just take an iPod Shuffle for the tunes. But there might be some of you out there who need to stay in touch more and it looks like Nike’s got you covered.

The User Guide is here so you can test your tech competency level and a Stuff review here.

Blu-ray Disc Sales on the Rise, Up 90% in First Half of 2009

Wednesday. 22 July. 2009. 9:18 am

Sales of Blu-ray discs rose to US$407 million so far this year.

It must be the lower price of Blu-ray players and everyone switching to HD TV’s because it isn’t because of bigger Playstation 3 sales. Nearly 20 million discs have shipped in Q2 alone, says Electronic House:

Blu-ray hardware sales surpassed two million units in the first half, marking nearly 25 percent growth over the same period from 2008. According to DEG, there are nearly 11 million Blu-ray devices in homes in the U.S., including PlayStation 3 consoles. Nearly 75 percent of those units are BD-Live compatible.

Putting that in to perspective is that 5 million DVD players were sold in Q2 of 2009 as well, brining the number of DVD players since it came to market in 2007 to 260 million in the US alone. So it seems the DVD had a lifespan of 10 years. That means with the progression of technology the Blu-ray may not even be the format of choice in 2018.

Platinum Games, the Japanese game developer, is making quite a name for itself. Hopefully they will port the amazing Madworld and Infinite Space to Xbox and PS3 sometime soon, but for 2009 all eyes are on Bayonetta.

An interview with Sega USA has just confirmed that the game won’t enjoy a worldwide release, probably to stay away from the super games like Bioshock 2 and Singularity which will be the big end of 2009 games – Hong Kong gamers will be able to play the Japanese version on October 29th, the other games will have to wait till sometime in Early 2010.

From Platinum’s past record on games, this one is high anticipated and available for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the trailer below:

The HTC Hero Release Draws Closer and Closer, Excitement Grows

We can’t help but be excited about this new Android phone.

Sure we love the iPhone, but there still are alot of shortcomings even with the 3GS and the 3.0 operating system. We’ve had ample playing time with the G1 and the Magic and really do like the feel and the responsiveness of the Android OS. Sure it lacks in the icon department and currently the app choice, but give it some time and we’ll see that everyone who cares about mobile communication in Hong Kong will either have an iPhone or an Android phone, and you will be able to spot a banker/lawyer and/or Canadian because they are the ones with the Blackberry’s.

It seems demo models have gone out to Engadget and Crunchgear and they have posted some photos with a more in-depth review soon. We are chasing HTC Hong Kong to confirm a release date in Hong Kong as well.

These guys at CNET Singapore pull a greasy french fries test on the iPhone and Hero to see which can withstand the smudge factor of fast food:
