Okay, we’re bringing this to your attention because most likely a lot of you will be buying some kind of Nintendo handheld gaming machine this Christmas, and the last thing you want to do is kick yourself when you see this one come out a few months after gift-buying season.

Over the weekend in Japan, Nintendo released the Nintendo DSi LL; exactly the same as every other DS handheld except this one comes with 2 giant 4.2-inch TFT screens. When it hits the U.S. and Europe next year, it will be called the Nintendo DSi XL but that will be well after Christmas.

So, here’s a heads-up to hit some of our “Water Stock” stores in Hong Kong (i.e. Wan Chai and Mong Kok) this week to see if they can get one for you before you go and buy a soon-to-be obsolete version of the popular gaming machine. See how we look after you?!

Not only that, if hitting the game shops is just too much trouble for you and you want to stay beside the fire, Renchi.com in Hong Kong is taking pre-orders now at US$269 each (HK$2,085). Seeing as the current NDS Lite is going for around HK$1,000 at Fortress, the first-man-in-town tax is applied. More pictures and info on the LL (in Japanese) here.
