Our memories form the tech conference to end all tech conferences.

Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher first came to Hong Kong in February this year to start scouting locations for what turned out to be AsiaD at the Grand Hyatt from October 19-21st and what an event it was.
Not only did the Wall Street Journal’s leading tech writers – along with their famous red-chairs – bring their conference to Hong Kong instead of Tokyo, Beijing or Singapore; they even invited some amazing guests to speak like Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, Alibaba.com founder Jack Ma and former US Vice-President Al Gore.
And in true form, they put on quite a show – here we look back at one of the most exciting tech events to ever hit Hong Kong in photos:

Technology superstars descend upon Hong Kong.

Some of the leading names in technology made it out to the first day at AsiaD yesterday and it was everything we’d hope it would be.
Although co-founder Kara Swisher has been bedridden in Happy Valley leaving her partner Walt Mossberg on stage by himself interviewing Android’s Andy Rubin, Yahoo co-founder Jerry Yang and Asus chairman Jonney Shih did not disappoint – and the live demo launch of Lytro.com really wowed the crowds with a revolutionary new camera system.
We’re continuing today with talks from Jack Ma of Alibaba.com, Jack Dorsey of Twitter, Brian Chesky of AirnBNB.com and Cher Wang of HTC and will bring more photos when we can.

This is a big week for tech in Hong Kong.

This week the world’s technology leaders descend upon Hong Kong for the AsiaD conference at the Grand Hyatt in Wan Chai.
We’ve been excited about this ever since conference founders and iconic tech journalists from the Wall Street Journal Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher were in Hong Kong in February to start talks and scouting for venues for the Asian-version of their super popular All Things D conference from the US.
We’ll be covering the event from inside the Grand Hyatt so follow @neonpunch on Twitter for the latest tweets and back here for photos and round-ups of what happens when you put Jack Dorsey, Jack Ma, Cher Wang, Phil Schiller, Jerry Yang and so many more into a room together.
At least the weather is perfect in Hong Kong this week to roll out those red chairs!

The former U.S. vice-president is coming to town.

Former Vice President of the United States and Chairman of Current TV Al Gore (not to mention Apple board member and iPad app developer) just joined ranks with the likes of Twitter Creator Jack Dorsey and Executive Deputy President of Sony Corporation Kazuo Hirai at the AsiaD conference in Hong Kong.
With the former VP of the USA, the AsiaD conference looks to be a milestone event for Hong Kong and the local tech scene. All eyes will be on the Grand Hyatt hotel from October 19-21 and if you didn’t get your tickets don’t worry – we’ll be there live-blogging, live-tweeting and maybe even live-streaming whatever we can to you via our social media channels.

Get your tickets soon this is going to be big.

We’ve been covering the upcoming AsiaD conference coming to Hong Kong in October ever since we had a chance to dim sum with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher at the China Club back in January.
Now the fruits of their labor are coming to a head this October as the AllThingsD conference gets an Asia make-over and they’re bringing some of the biggest tech players along with them!
Besides the already confirmed guests – new ones that have been announced include:
