Tuesday. 25 August. 2009. 9:59 am

A mash-up of nerd and hipster with The Force thrown in.

Mark Ecko
, the rhino man himself, is back and releasing new clothes that the geekier ones of our audience might find right up their alley. Ecko designed 6 new Star Wars themed hoodies (in addition to the other 6 previously designed) which range from HK$800-1000. These include Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Boba Fett and X-Wing pilot.

The bubble jackets are probably our favorites and they seem to suit Hong Kong street style. If you’re interested, they’re up for pre-order at the Star Wars Shop and they are also limited edition so I would advise buying before you have to resort to eBay.

In the spirirt of the Comic-Con International that starts today in San Diego, we bring you this inspired by the Batpod scene from The Dark Knight product. Universal Designs, decided that the motorcycle driving public needed to look as much as Batman as possible, and have therefore come up with the ultimate licensed product: The Batman Motorcyle Outfit.

  • Strong Cordura Mesh Base with Heavy-duty 4 way stretch Spandex inserts.
  • Removable CE Approved Body Armor in both Jacket and Pants
  • Highly detailed, removable lightweight interior lining.
  • Form Molded Leather and Kevlar Armor Sectons.
  • Made from Quality Tanned Cow Hides

This thing is the top-of-the-line product from this company. They have regular motorcycle leather jackets featuring Heath Ledger’s Joker for US$389, so we’re expecting this full Batman outfit to cost around US$800. There is really only one thing left to say: What does the helmet look like?

Friday. 19 June. 2009. 9:47 am

The Japanese have a way to beat off that Hong Kong humidity.

haruyama_icesuit1

Yesterday it was 29 degrees with 85% humidity in Hong Kong, today its going to be 32 degrees with 90% humidity and its only June, what can the suit-wearing community do?

Oh yeah, and this is no joke – a Japanese company called Haruyama has developed an “ice suit” that adds in specially placed ice gel packs into the lining of the jacket. Sure you have to order from Japan, but sizes will fit us Hong Kong guys and at HK$4500 for 1, is that really too much to be able to walk around with your own built in air-con? Download the PDF catalogue here (It’s in Japanese, but you can get your Japanese girlfriend to order it for you.)
