Ezio Offers A Way to “Watch” How Much You Drink in Hong Kong

Thursday. 7 January. 2010. 11:52 am

It really is 2010…a breathalyzer in a watch!

Yes, many of you could have probably used this BEFORE New Year’s Eve, but we’re sure there will be plenty more applications for this unique gadget in your future.

Though we’ve passed the 2010 countdown, another festive holiday is fast approaching us as we begin preparations to welcome the Year of the Tiger with a bit of wine and drink. We all know that the local constabulary monitors the roads, streets and highways for people who are “driving under the influence” but, unfortunately, sometimes alcohol impedes our judgment so we think we are fit to drive.

Thankfully, Ezio has developed a watch that can test your alcohol level at a push of a button. In less than thirty seconds, you can find out whether or not you’re fit to drive.

Pingo is Probably the Only Facebook Friend You’ll Never Ignore

Tuesday. 8 December. 2009. 9:00 pm

This robotic penguin reads and connects to the web and Facebook.

pingo

Tiny and yeah, ok, pretty cute, Pingo is a tiny robotic penguin and the first official mydeskfriend,  launching today at www.mydeskfriend.com. We first reported about this Facebook-talking robot back in July, and now it’s finally here.

Pingo integrates into its owners’ Facebook account via a Facebook application that allows users to give their device its own name, profile and personality, as well as nurture its moods and manage its daily life. The interactive playmate can zoom around desktops, express moods, respond to voice commands, sing songs and read aloud email messages, headlines, stock quotes and even the weather!

You can set mydeskfriend up to read RSS newsfeeds, spoil it with food and vitamins from a Facebook gift page, and lull it to sleep by gently rocking it in your hands. Pingo can follow fingers around a desktop, while sensory devices ensure that it never falls off a desk when moving around on its own.
