As it is one of Sony’s flagship intellectual properties, they really have to milk it for what they can: Witness the new Metal Gear Solid Walkman.

It’s a special limited edition of the Walkman NWZ-W252/Z, a water-resistant and washable MP3 player to celebrate the launch of Konami’s highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker on the PSP.

Designed with a distinctive green camouflage finish, the wire-free Walkman W series comes pre-installed with 6 songs from the game soundtrack. In addition, a coupon inside the packaging of each special edition Walkman features a unique code that unlocks original characters in Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. With a 2GB capacity that stores up to 470 songs, the NWZ-W252/Z offers up to 11 hours of playback time with a full charge of 90 minutes.

This limited edition Walkman NWZ-W252/Z is available from June 2010 at the suggested retail price of HK$598. Additionally, Sony Style stores and designated authorized dealers will provide a bundling package of the Walkman NWZ-W252/Z and the Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker game at HK$848.

The regular non-MGS version sports a new metallic look, with a more intuitive user experience with a one touch Bass Enhancer with red power illuminator to boost bass performance on music tracks. The Walkman B series offers a wide variety of audio features, from MP3 music playback to voice and FM recording. Transferring music directly to the music player is also easily done with a simple drag-and-drop.

The NWZ-B152 (2GB) and NWZ-B153 (4GB) will be available at the suggested retail prices of HK$348 and HK$488 respectively starting this week at your favorite electronics shop or from Sony Style.

Have you been frustrated over and over again about keeping your iWhatevers™ in your 1.0 pant pockets?

So what makes WTFJeans special? Oh wait, there’s one more thing: The weird and most interesting part of WTFJeans is that it doesn’t just pad your electronic toys, it also pads your flesh gizmo. You heard it right. For some strange reason, they’ve added extra padding in the crotch area to give you a nice snuggle. The jeans will be offered in men’s and women’s cuts, although the ladies miss out on the hot crotch zone features.

Infoxenter, a local Hong Kong developer (who is a family man) has created and launched BindoGPS for the iPhone and its available to download here. “Bin Do” being the phonetic sound for the Cantonese “Where are you?” Yes, a localized version of the other iPhone App Hey, Where are You?

The best use for this is probably for hikers who go wandering in the Hong Kong hills and want to make sure their group doesn’t get lost. You can also send your trip location to friends who are late to meet up with you. You can also use this to tell friends what Wan Chai bar you are in as well, and I guess see if your girlfriend is on her way to Wan Chai to see you, so you can discreetly jump in a cab to Lan Kwai Fong with your entourage.

Mr Andrews, the managing director of GAMA Microwave Technology, said it is possible to ‘tune’ the radio-frequencies to provide the best results with any small product.

‘It is possible to heat a pie, a burger, a cup of soup or tea in quick time,’ he said.
