They’ve finally done it!

Windows laptop users need not be envious of the MacBook Air any longer. Here is the PC clone of the MBA now available in Hong Kong for all those looking for a PC laptop that is ultra-portable and light (just like the MacBook Air). The Asus ZenBook was recently shown off at AsiaD by Asus Chairman Jonney Shih, where interviewer Walt Mossberg promptly called him out on it by calling it a “MacBook Air Clone.”

But hey, thinner laptops make everyone more productive right? The ZenBook features a sturdy aluminum body with a circular brush metal finish that reflects the Zen ideology of things going in circles. The ultra-portable laptop comes in two screen sizes 11.6” and 13.3” both of which comes in two configurations.

Sony Hong Kong launched their new high end VAIO Z notebook that screams sleek and sexy starting at HK$20,980!

The all-new VAIO Z Series weighs only 1.165 kg and is extremely thin at a mere 16.65 mm. Its high-resolution full HD display with anti-reflective glossy finish provides an exquisite image with vivid colours covering 96% of the Adobe RGB colour gamut.

The VAIO Z Series is also equipped with the 2nd generation Intel Core i7 processor, speedy DDR3 SDRAM and up to 256GB ultra-high speed 2nd generation SSD in the RAID 0 configuration, offering remarkably fast operation. Here’s the very first piece of hardware – called the Jolibook – that’s build speiifcally to run the new, alternative cloud-based operating system call Jolicloud OS.

Yup, looks like a laptop – but runs like an iPad, while we haven’t actually installed Jolicloud yet we do like what we’ve seen on their site. Its a free OS with all your favorite apps ready to roll like Firefox, Gmail, Facebook, Hulu, Boxee, Spotify and more. Its biggest opponent will be when Google launches its Chrome OS (not the browser, but a full on OS) that will challenge the Jolicloud OS which has little to no visibility here in Asia.

Recently at an event that can only be said to be brimming over with horse power Lamborghini HK and ASUS HK released new models of their high performance products.

From Lamborghini comes the Gallardo, that frankly can best be described as “…….” – yes, we were speechless and text-less. All we can say is take a look at the photo gallery. On ASUS’ side the giant Taiwanese computer maker released two new notebooks the ASUS-Lamborghini VX6 and VX7 that made us just as speechless.

The smaller 12.1” VX6 looks very similar to the front of the famous sports car while the VX7 features a rear that looks almost exactly like the Gallardo’ back end. If you can’t afford to drive around in a Gallardo than you might want to consider navigating the broadband highways with either the ASUS-Lamborghini VX6 or VX7

These two laptops are the latest in a recent spate of notebook releases from ASUS who over the Summer released the environmentally green U Bamboo and the High Fidelity Bang & Olufsen speaker enhanced notebook the NX90Jq.

Regardless if you are an Apple fanboy or not, their industrial design has kicked every other PC manufacturer in the head  and that is good for everyone. At least for people looking at you in Starbucks.

While Sony seems to want to make everything is slim as possible, HP is making sure they keep things stylish especially for the music crowd – with the help of Dr. Dre – with their HP Envy Beats Edition available now in Hong Kong.

The 14.5-inch HD screen comes with a pair of Beats Solo headphones and is souped up with the i7 quad-core processor packed together at HK$14,980 – hey styles costs money!

The regular non-Beats Envy just looks like a regular laptop, this Beats Edition is the shizzle, yo!

Dell’s newest laptop is superslim weighing only 1 and half kg with an 11.6-inch HD glossy WLED display and comes in these 4 cool colors. And it’s available today from Dell.com.hk for HK$4,280.

Its great to see laptops getting thinner and thinner and the display still at a good size and the price not too crazy. This is the kind of laptop you might buy as a travel computer. Its light, has a 7-in-1 card reader and can play all your movies when you’re on the road and its cheap enough that if it gets destroyed you won’t be crying too much.

We can’t speak for the hardcore Alienware fans, but because Dell purchased them back in 2006 at least their distribution power is intergalactic – thus able to get these cool PC laptops into the Hong Kong mass market!

As our Twitter followers know, we attended a Dell event yesterday and got a chance to play with the new Alienware M11x laptop – that is available today via Dell.com.hk and at Broadway shops in Hong Kong for HK$10,999.

You can view all the specs here but we played some games on it and its a sweet little machine. Cosmetically its cool that when in the Command Center you can change the color of the keyboard lights – actually any of the lights that appear – from the Alienware logo to the power light – are all fully customizable and you can even change the way it strobes and shifts colors.

Because of its size, the CD-drive is external – which is strange for a gaming laptop but seeing Grand Theft Auto on the 11″ screen was pretty cool. Its lightweight too at 2 kg, and with tons of plugs to get you playing on an HD TV with 720p output. If you want a bigger screen you can always go with the M15X or the M17X but those are priced much higher.

Here is a sweet looking laptop from Fujitsu called the Lifebook LH530 available in Hong Kong today.

Running Windows 7 with a Intel Core i3-330 processor it seems that this Lifebook not only looks sweet it also is giving us some good speed as well.

The ruby red or shiny black colors gives it that “Apple gloss” missing on many PC’s, and that 12.1-inch HD LED display makes it a very formidable laptop. And the price is pretty nice too!

Its the Rise of the Super Slim Laptops! It looks like users are demanding thinner yet more powerful laptops and Sony is delivering with 3 new notebooks: the Vaio Z, E and W series.
