Nothing says you’ve made it like commuting by helicopter.

If you haven’t experienced the heady feeling of urban helicopter travel, part Jetsons and part Gordon Gekko, the time is now. Although commuting across the harbor by air is certainly the height of the good life, those who want more than 2 minutes to enjoy their time in the in the sky should take one of Hong Kong’s exclusive helicopter tours. Or, how about a quick hop over to Macau?

You might even win enough to fly back.

If you’re looking for a Hong Kong tour experience Heliservices is the company to check out. Heliservices flies from The Peninsula helipad in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Airport Helipad and the Government Helipad in Wan Chai. They offer the obligatory Victoria Harbor tour but also more unique packages like flights to the outer islands, to The New Territories or even along the Hong Kong-China border. Tours range from HK$4,750-HK$18,750. The helicopters themselves are luxurious, seating 5 in the comfort of a quiet, air-conditioned cabin. Heliservices also offer VIP shuttle services to the airport and to Macau.

If a simple city tour is too basic, maybe you should consider getting out-of-town. Sky Shuttle offers comprehensive helicopter shuttle services between Hong Kong, Macau and Shenzhen. They currently operate 54 flights a day, with flights departing every 30 minutes between Macau and Hong Kong, and 12 flights a day between Macau and Shenzhen. Flights cost HK$2,900 each way. All of their offered trips last only 15 minutes so you can leave the office and be on the casino floor before dinner time.

If these options aren’t enough to make you feel special maybe The Peninsula can help. They offer heli-tours that run HK$5,000 for every 15 minutes, but they will also arrange special helicopter related packages like fly and relax or fly and dine which couple spa treatments or dinner with a flight or they can even offer to drop you off on a secluded beach for a picnic. Obviously the price for that kind of service is exorbitant significant.

The resident bartender whisky expert will be happy to guide you through your flight if you have any questions.

The flights include:

The Macallan Through Time, HK$488, a journey through the years of Macallan whisky with five whisky’s of increasing age.

The Nippon Trail, HK$388, an introduction to the world of Japanese whisky with five drams from Japan’s finest distilleries.

Uisge Beatha, HK$288, Scottish Gaelic for the water of life, this flight offers a taste of five of Scotland’s most beloved whiskies.

This is too crazy not to bring to your attention. Not only is there an Asia Adult Expo 2008 in Macau, but its at The Venetian. Before all you Vivid fans go crazy this is not a “porn show” this is a respectable Adult Expo and is more about education than meeting porn stars. And its a show for guys AND girls, so you won’t need that overcoat and sunglasses:

Asia Adult Expo 2008 (AAE) is an Exclusive & Foremost ADULT Trade & Entertainment Show in the HEART of Asia which will be held at Macau, Asia’s Las Vegas. It will be located in a world class standard expo venue, The Venetian. AAE is a portal for traders and the public in Asia as an eye opener, and it is a place for trade, education, mutual understanding and interaction. It consists of comprehensive content and aims to serve as a unique platform and opportunity where buyers and sellers are brought together for penetrating and exploring the huge Asia market.

This kind of show is a staple in Las Vegas, so it’s obvious it would find its way to Macau. Read all about it and get tickets at their site where they have lots of brochures and dealer lists so you know what to expect. We went to one in Vegas and Sydney in the past and its like a mix of lingerie fashion shows, a calvacade of sex products and crazy booths with dildos, that still isn’t too raunchy you can’t take your girlfriend or wife to, and you never know, maybe it will generate some new ideas.
