Nintendo’s next generation looks like an already-gen.
So with E3 in full swing there is tons of game news but we’ll only touch upon the mega-big stuff to get your reactions – like the new Nintendo Wii U – their next gen 1080p HD console that comes with its own iPad?!!
What do you think? Is this the next generation or is this one too many things in your house just to play games? But if you haven’t yet, you need to see this video of it in action:
Is this the next generation for Nintendo or the last?
Nintendo has confirmed that the worldwide launch for the 3DS will be on March 27th – at a whopping US$250/HK$1,950!
Amazon has it up for pre-sale now but with no discounts yet on the black or aqua colored 3.5 inch screened device that doesn’t require you to wear glasses to see the 3D effect, which apparenty isn’t going to be like Avatar but more like cardboard cut-outs that add depth to the characters – so yes, sort of like Clash of the Titans.
And the 3DS is going to launch with at least 7 games that you all will want from Super Street Fighter 4 to Legend of Zelda to Lego Star Wars to Nintendogs – ok maybe not that last one. And 30 more to hit the stores by early June.
We personally haven’t seen this thing yet but we are excited to try it out. But after playing retina display iPhone games how will these games compare even in 3D and how long before the next iPhone also has 3D capabilities?
Tron Week continues with our look at the console game.
Time to get derezzed and parkour your way through the world of Tron: Evolution for the Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC. As denizen of the digital world it’s up to you to save Flynn and Tron from Flynn’s evil digital doppelganger Clu.
The game’s story takes place before the Tron: Legacy events and provides some insight into the film’s past. The film will also reference elements of the game’s story so fans will want to play the game to learn more about the TRON mythology seen in the film, but according to Disney each entertainment experience will stand on its own.
Nintendo god drops by TST, brings large Italian plumber friend.
What is going on here in Hong Kong? First we have Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima, then the 3 princes of Final Fantasy XIII now the man who, in our eyes, is the Walt Disney of Video Games – Shigeru Miyamoto – stops by the Hyatt Regency to launch the Hong Kong version of New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Wii.
And yes, we’re so geeky Miyamoto gets the top photo and all the hot Nintendo image girls are pushed down to the photo gallery below:
The coolest stuff that was announced at the big game show.
We were supposed to cover E3 2010 live this year but somehow our plane took off without us so we’ve had to live it viacriously through blogs and websites and instead of enjoying the beautiful Los Angeles weather, had to sweat it out here in Hong Kong.
But its been a busy week – so here are a bunch of things that we liked/loved/loathed from the show floor at E3 2010:
