Is Sony’s new handheld on your buying list?

So you’ve read all the coverage about Sony’s new portable device the Playstation VitaSoy as the official platform name for the next generation portable entertainment system.The Wi-Fi model will be available for 24,980 yen (including tax) in Japan, $249 in US and €249 in Europe, 3G/Wi-Fi model will be available for 29,980 yen (including tax) in Japan, $299 in US and €299 in Europe and successively launch in global market starting the end of 2011.
The price sounds very good! So is this the end-all be-all portable gaming device? Answer our poll below:

Holy S#!T, Sony steps up its game at today’s Playstation Meeting 2011.

Ok so 2 big announcements from Sony today – a new PSP and a way to get Playstation games on your Android device.
The new PSP is codenamed NGP (Next Generation Playstation? So clever!) is going to be quite the badass:
- WiFi and 3G connectivity with built-in GPS
- 5″ OLED screen
- Multi-touch
- Oval design form
- Dual analog sticks
- LiveArea (or XboxLive for PSP)
- Flash card game media!
We’re not done yet – it looks like that Sony Playstation Phone we have on our Top 2011 gadgets goes further than just a new Android phone…

The best of what we’ll be playing next year on our consoles.

So you’ve no doubt either gotten a new Playstation 3 with Move, an Xbox 360 with Kinect or just a bigger TV to play them on – its funny though, none of our picks for next year utilize any of these fancy new motion controllers they are just the old school controller games that will have us glued to our TV’s in 2011.

Neonpunch goes behind the curtain at this year’s AGS 2010!

The weather outside is kind of frightful (mild) but the scenery at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Wan Chai is quite delightful. If you are all alone this Christmas weekend then you can get yourself a big bowl of Christmas cheer at this year’s Asian Game Show.
Three cosplay models helped Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong host the media preview of their annual Asian Game Show that is being held in Hall 5 F at the HKCEC.
Coming out dressed as game characters DaDa Chan (Hong Kong), Aya K. (Japan) and Xiao Yu (Taiwan) welcomed the international media by posing for photos and wowing us with their Sing Star & Dance gaming prowess. The girls could only be seen yesterday and unfortunately AGS attendees today will not be able to see them, however Neonpunch took enough photos for you so that you won’t feel totally left out.

Tron Week continues with our look at the console game.

Time to get derezzed and parkour your way through the world of Tron: Evolution for the Sony Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC. As denizen of the digital world it’s up to you to save Flynn and Tron from Flynn’s evil digital doppelganger Clu.
The game’s story takes place before the Tron: Legacy events and provides some insight into the film’s past. The film will also reference elements of the game’s story so fans will want to play the game to learn more about the TRON mythology seen in the film, but according to Disney each entertainment experience will stand on its own.
