Sony brings you up close and personal with their #1 game.
A quick heads up from Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong: From today till Sunday, August 9 at the Kowloon Bay EMax, you’ll get a chance to play the #1 Playstation 3 game in Hong Kong – Katamari Damacy Tribute – on an 80-foot high-definition big screen test to fight the odds with the beautiful Rainbow 胡心諾 and Miyoko 劉欣宜 at your side.
Win or lose, you still win!
Please note: SCEH has not confirmed if the girls will be playing in their bikini’s or fully clothed
The game that tops this week’s Hong Kong Playstation 3 games is new to the list but not new to PS3 gamers: Katamari Damacy Tribute, also known as Katamari Forever. After Namco created the very popular Katamari Damacy series, it’s no wonder that this new sequal is also ranked the best-selling PS3 game in Hong Kong! For the first time in the game’s history, you can now play in full HD 1080p!
What happening this time? The King of All Cosmos has banged his head and has lost his memory! To replace the King, the prince and his cousins created RoboKing. However, they never expected the RoboKing to go out of control! Now, the world is in total chaos as RoboKing destroys all kinds of planets in the Cosmos. It’s now your job to help the Prince roll those Katamaris to bring the color back to the world and help the king gain back his memories!
If you want an idea at just how crazy the world is, just take a look at the trailer, but we doubt this will explain anything to those not familiar with the game already:
Sexy new game character debuts in time for Hallowe’en.
Platinum Games, the Japanese game developer, is making quite a name for itself. Hopefully they will port the amazing Madworld and Infinite Space to Xbox and PS3 sometime soon, but for 2009 all eyes are on Bayonetta.
An interview with Sega USA has just confirmed that the game won’t enjoy a worldwide release, probably to stay away from the super games like Bioshock 2 and Singularity which will be the big end of 2009 games – Hong Kong gamers will be able to play the Japanese version on October 29th, the other games will have to wait till sometime in Early 2010.
From Platinum’s past record on games, this one is high anticipated and available for both Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. Check out the trailer below:
The “Prestige Edition” has one major special feature you’ll want to have!
OK suit up gamers! Well this time you really can. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 hits Hong Kong on November 10th and with it comes one of the most awesome “premium edition” gimmick ever: a pair of night vision goggles. Not sure if they enhance the game play but they do look pretty awesome and already win our award for best premium item for 2009.
Joystiq says there is no price yet on this but you should look at a retail around at least US$100 for game and goggles, steel case, art book and a custom-molded plastic head to show off your goggles when you aren’t wearing them and a voucher to download the original Call of Duty off the Playstation Network or Xbox Live. Scratch that, it’ll probably be closer to US$150-200 for all that CoD goodness.
Here is a video of the unboxing to get you excited and ready for more Modern Warfare:
The Playstation 3 FPS game Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood got a real char-grilled promotional charge in Hong Kong as Sony teams-up with Outback Steakhouse and Hong Kong models E-Cup Baby and Lavina were on hand to spice up the proceedings in sexy cowgirl outfits and mixing drinks for the guests. You got to hand it to Sony Hong Kong, they sure know their demographic and how to market directly to them.
Besides the western theme game, the point of using Outback Steakhouse is that they have some party coupon/game package for you as well as having a scratch and win contest on the game packaging tgat an get you a Cowboy party hopefully with these lovely ladies attending. Contest is on till the end of July.
Lets turn back to the game for a second as well, its getting 77% on Metacritic with best quotes sounding like:
It was definitely a nice change of pace from the standard World War II/sci-fi settings and until someone does it better, Bound in Blood is, in my opinion, the best Western-themed shooter around. – Gamepro
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood is a thematic triumph that makes you look past the gameplay lumps. Come for the western fantasy, revel in the visual presentation and get a decent shot of first-person action in between. – Play Magazine.
It came in at #5 on the sales chart for last week on the Playstation side but you be the judge with what you see in this video review:
