I like your insight as well. I guess its a matter of preference really. Some people still like Blackberry because of the keyboard, but knowing it doesn't have as many features as an iPhone or an Android smartphone.

I'm glad you love Nexus One, but to be honest it will most likely be forgotten by July, in favor of the next great Android phone.

Its good that there are 3 major choices though, and that hopefully this year Android takes over 3rd place from Windows Mobile.

Thanks for your insight. I agree that the average consumer really like the iPhone because of its app store but really out of those 10 million apps how many are actually useful and productive? I believe in quality over quantity and Android delivers what I want.

I love the apple platform and own a iPhone but I strongly disagree with the way Apple markets it.
1) Closed development to the point they approve or disapprove the entry of apps into the app store. Besides that, no customization. (Unless one jailbreaks)
2) Hardware limitations. You've got to admit when the iPhone was first released, the specs were horrible, it was anything but spectacular. Hell, it didn't even support 3G. Now the 3GS sports a 3MP camera with no flash? Come on Apple how long will you continue to milk your customers? + Non removable batteries.

Plus Apple pretty much cockblocked the market from multitouch. Look at the Droid and the Nexus. Both are capable, Milestone has multitouch why can't Droid? Nexus one's Dolphin browser has multitouch, why can't it have native multitouch? Apple's patterns thats why...

TL;DR : iPhone is great but the Nexus One is better. :)

We'd also like to back this up with this comment from Gene Munster (technology analyst for Piper Jaffray) and how we also echo his thoughts here:

<blockquote>"The reality is this … people aren’t buying a phone because its got a cool screen. The reason people are buying iPhone, or any device, is because these apps … 10 million apps are being downloaded per day for the iPhone, and so Google can come out with whatever they want … they have 20,000 apps in their app store. Apple has about 125,000 apps. People are doing great things with their iPhone and this (Google’s Nexus One) just doesn’t change the landscape."</blockquote>

We can get into this more but think we'll be posting a commentary on this since we are getting so many emails about the Nexus One x Motorola Milestone x Apple iPhone!

Hi Pastel,

Yes to be fair - we are just lucky to be a test city for the Nexus One out of all the cities in the world, but we feel bad for the buyers of the Droid. Motorola must have known the Nexus One was coming to HK and rushed out the Milestone to market so as not to lose market share since we are the only ones to have it in Asia.

If there is shipping added to the Nexus One it cannot be more than HK$400 per phone. Which still keeps it at a nice price for a brand new Android phone from Google.

Our experience says, that if Google is supporting this phone directly, we don't think a better one will come out until the middle of the year when all the manufacturers have had time to study the N1 and incorporate the new concepts into their phones and create an even better phone.

Don't get us wrong - we love Android. Its just that all these phones are starting to confuse the marketplace and we get many emails asking which one to buy as even non-gadget freaks want to buy the newest and best one.

Is it possible to cover the shipping cost in your article? Just wondering :D

And to be fair, the Milestone/Droid only arrived a month ago is kinda unrelated because Motorola was being typical and released it to Asia late. The Droid was out in the US since November, but it does raise a point regarding Android and its constantly new flagship phones.
