Happy Star Wars Celebration, Here’s Your R2D2 Android Phone
Finally, the droid we’ve been looking for.
Every August The House of George Lucas celebrates the world he created at the Star Wars Celebration and yes its even crazy geekier than that video with Triumph the Comic Insult Dog.
Did you know that George owns the copyright to the word “droid” and so Motorola has to license that word from him for their Droid phone? Well it all pays off here as the content manager for Starwars.com twittering as @r2d2central has just posted the first pic of the R2D2 Droid phone.
Prices and availability will probably be announced soon, but this is one Android phone we’d like to have guide our X-Wing around Hong Kong.
Wish you were there at Star Wars Celebration? Well at least you can download an app for it for iPhone and Android here.
UPDATE: The day you can buy this is September 30th – most likely just in the US but keep your eye on the secondary market here in HK
