Introducing: iPhone 3GS
It almost seems impossible, but Apple does it again!
Apple’s new iPhone is called the iPhone 3GS, the “S” stands for “Speed” – its faster in so many ways than the current 3G model. Go direct to Apple.com to see more, or stay here for the broadstrokes:
- Voice Control: You can say “Call Bob!” or “Play Adam Lambert” and get calls or music played!
- Video recording and editing: 30 fps VGA with auto focus
- Better battery life (we’ll believe that when we see it)
- 3 megapixel camera WITH autofocus
- 7.2 Mbps HSDPA
- Digital Compass
- Same great design
And its all available on June 19th in the US and sometime in July for Hong Kong and the original iPhone 3G model for US$99 8GB is available now – there goes any chance of reselling our current 3G iPhone for anywhere near the original price.
You current iPhone owners can upgrade to 3.0 OS on June 17th, that’s next Wednesday for free and US$10 for iPod Touch users and access over 50,000 apps currently in the App Store.
So now we have to hound Hutchinson to find out the exact date we can get the iPhone 3GS in Hong Kong in July. An exciting Summer phone that’s for sure!
UPDATE JULY 6: We’re hearing reports that 3 will release the phone in Hong Kong this Friday, July 10th.

Around how much will it cost? the Iphone 3GS?
Any word on how much the iphone 3G S will cost in HK? Also, is July 9th confirmed or just speculation?
At the key note speech it was announced that the 3GS would be released 2 weeks after the 26th June so i guess thats where that information comes from…. I hope it is 9th
still no news on the 3GS…one week to go???
