iPad 2 Launches in Hong Kong This Friday

It’s finally our turn Hong Kong, for iPad 2 magic!
The wait is over Hong Kong – the iPad 2 officially goes on sale this Friday, 29 April across Hong Kong – including the Apple online store and all the authorized premium resellers in the city.
It’s been almost 8 weeks since it launched in the US, but now it’s finally here in HK – the iPad 2 (see our review here) has taken the world by storm in terms of great reviews and sell-outs everywhere you look, and so the excitement now descends on Hong Kong.
Here’s what you’re looking to pay for either the black or white models:

The online store will start taking orders at MIDNIGHT (Friday morning) or you can go into an Apple Authorized Dealer (see list here) to pick up directly as soon as the doors open. We have no information on the stock levels in Hong Kong, nor the ratio of black and white iPad 2′s. So we’ll have to see what happens on Friday.
A quick comparison with the US Apple store and you’ll notice not only are our iPad’s slightly cheaper – because Hong Kong doesn’t have goods and services tax like in the US – that means, for almost the entire amount you save on the tax if you bought one in the US, you can buy a Smart Cover!
We’re so excited for this launch we’ll be out in the streets covering the door openings like we did for iPad 1. Thank you Apple for not waiting till its super hot to launch it here.
And as every other tablet has now hit the market, you can test them all out for yourselves – and will most likely come to the same conclusion we have – the iPad 2 is the best tablet currently on the market.

WTF are the idiots in Apple Management doing?
We sign up for notification on the web site, but todday, 24 hours after this anouncment, they still have not sent out any notification, nor do the store accept a deposit to hold an IPAD, do we have to camp outside all night like idiots to get one? or do they let the pathetic resellers sent low paid workers to queue to buy all the stock so they can resell at stupid rates again.
at 1am it was available with shipping estimates of 1-2 weeks. at 10am and as of now it’s “currently unavailable”. I grow tired of this, they must found a way to block these resellers or better manage their inventory.
Yup, no notification from Apple HK even though the Apple HK website had previously seek to get people to register for IPAD2 launch notification. Why get people to register in the first place?
