iPhone 4 On Sale in Hong Kong This July
You know that operation you needed next month? Cancel it.
While we may have already seen the new iPhone 4, Hong Kong’s iPhanatics were up in full force on Twitter starting from 1am to 3am when the Apple Keynote at WWDC concluded.
So not only is the iPhone 4 everything we want, its coming to Hong Kong in July – alongside the official iPad launch!
That’s right – better start saving!
No price has been set – but the US prices are US199 for a black or white 16GB model and US$299 for a 32GB black or white model keeping it line with the 3GS so it will have a similar price here. What we and 700,000 other iPhone users in Hong Kong are most interested in is how much will 3 and Smartone-Vodafone charge for an upgrade?

July?! Ugh, that’s too far away
so will you be able to buy it from the apple store direct in July – or will they only distribute the initial handsets via 3?

Am i the only one who felt the iphone 4 announcement was a complete disappointment?
What did they really bring to the table thats not already out for people to enjoy? What makes the Iphone 4 the device to have this holiday?

I think it’s more the software (iOS4) that has been improved, allowing multitasking.
Looking at the improved hardware, I think it is not that great (it does not give me a Wow feeling).
For example, the A4 processor. Samsung Galaxy S or Samsung Wave also have that processor.
Furthermore, iPhone 4 have a ips-type of display, while, for example, Samsung Galaxy S has Super Amoled display. However, the iPhone has a higher resolution.
The HD camera can film 720p video’s, but there are also other phones out there that can do the same. Videocalling is also not new.
The iPhone looks great, it is the smallest smartphone at the moment with 9,3 mm thickness.
@Terry Bogard – My dear friend, you have no idea what you are talking about. Their are SIGNIFICANT improvements in the iPhone 4 hardware – Battery has 40% greater life, far better stats than any other highend 3G smartphone out there. In fact the new HTC EVO didn’t even publish their stats in the US launch as they were so pathetic. iPhone 4 has the highest resolution screen by far, and with superior ips technology. The screen is superior to Amoled. And their are not other 720 HD videos out there at 30fps. Further, although the Apple A4 processor has some of the same core as the others you mention, it has been designed, enhanced and optimized by Apple to provide superior performance so our claim is false – they are NOT the same. And video calling in this form factor and platform/functionality does not exist elsewhere. And the gyrosope function is a complete game changer / incredibly unique advancement for gaming and other applications. When you combine this with all the new OS upgrades, and the entire ecosystem, this is a no-brainer.
40% battery life? So this version will stay on for longer than half a day. Great. HTC Evo’s battery life specs might be a little lower(6 hours while the iphone is rated at 7) but at least you can switch it out for a 3rd party batter that will last longer once the battery wears down.
HTC EVO? Ok, we can use this as an example. Oh and the screen isnt AMOLED, its TFT LCD. Sigh.
Iphone 4′s front camera is VGA. So you mean to tell me that they couldnt include a higher quality camera in the front for facetime? My old nokia 5800 can do that.
Oh and Facetime is wifi only?? C’mon Son.
A4 processor is designed for superior performance? Against what? 3gs? This thing hasnt been compared side by side with anything, especially not the snapdragon processor.

FaceTime is only Wifi till end of 2010.
EVO 4 also has a VGA front facing camera. Probably do not need super quality when you face is inches from the camera – I do not want my nose hairs in HD either.
I think its fair for the Evo and iPhone 4 comparisons as the Evo is the closest to it now. Until next month of course…
I agree, Jetson. I’m not here to put folks down. I’m not going to lie to you, the Iphone 4 looks sweet, and deep down, i’m secretly hoping something can change my mind about it. It would be my first Apple purchase..
About the front face cameras: Evo has a 1.3 MP front face. You’re right about the comparisons though.
Where is Apple opening the store? I thought before it was going to be in CWB, close to the PCCW building (but not in Times Square)

I love the spec guys who don’t get it. Like the iphones before it, iphone 4 is about the integrated package, not the individual specs. The formula has always been solid hardware + simple, elegant UI + great aesthetic design + integrated services (itunes & later App Store) = world beater. It has never been about us technophiles who deliberate about processor speeds. Sales of iphone have proven beyond a doubt that this formula is working for them. If you really think AMOLED or 1.3MP facing cameras matter, I’m sure Apple will be happy for you to choose EVO or whatever. Because those components alone don’t make a compelling product experience.

So what if they’re 60% profit margin. Good on Apple for all their hard work over the years. Michael Dell said that they should just close up shop in 1997, look at them now and look at Dell. The only Apple product I own is an 8GB 2nd Gen iPod touch, so I’m no fanboy and I will get the iPhone 4 because Apple makes great products, PERIOD.
So there is no exact date in July… counting days!
