LG Delivers the First Microsoft Windows Phone 7 In Hong Kong
The Optimus is the first one out of the gate with the new Microsoft OS.
Here it comes! After months and months of waiting Microsoft finally steps into the ring with its smartphone OS contender with a handful of new devices – the very first to enter the smartphone brawl?
On the 28th floor of iSquare, Neonpunch.com bore witness to the much anticapated launch of LG Optimus 7 E900, the first mobile in Hong Kong to feature the long awaited new Windows Phone 7 OS.
Tearing ourselves away from the lovely models, the Optimus 7 features a Qualcomm QSD8650 1GHz processor with 512 MB RAM and 16GB built-in Memory. The phone sports a 3.8 inches TFT resistive touchscreen, 16M colours and a main display size of 480 x 800 pixels. The Optimus 7 is equipped with a 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash light which includes Beauty Shot, Intelligent Shot, Panorama shot and can shoot HD 720p video (1280 x 720 pixels) at 30fps.
The most interesting aspect of the new Windows Phone 7 OS is the fact that Xbox Live is a feature that will enable users to download games from Xbox Live Marketplace (Yes, the same place you find on your Xbox 360) directly onto the phone or by using Zune software on your PC. Mobile users can also invite friends across the harbour or across the globe to play a game of checkers or action fighting mech games.
The suggested retail price of the LG Optimus 7 E900 is not bad at: HK$4,980

OMG, WM7 is still using RESISTIVE TOUCHSCREEN? This is a REAL winner
/end sarcasm :p
what is it with Hong Kong and those retarded press pictures – its always some bimbo holding the device. Is that supposed to fuel sales? Do i get that when i buy the phone? Someone who probably knows nothing of the product to hold it in my face, smiling like she had a load of weed? … maybe they should sell the weed instead of the device…
probably a typo? it’s capacitive
resistive would be epic
Any streetdate for the other phones?
It should be capacitive, though according to engadget you do need to actually touch the screen fully for it to input… so it’s like somewhere in the middle?

@Cord I think it’s just not as ultrasensitive as the iphone’s where if you so much as hover over an icon it’ll register as a tap. resistive would require physical force, rather than calculate screen position according to your electrical signal
but we’ll see..
been waiting and waiting for a release :S
this, along with the Samsung Omnia 7 should be the best of the current crop.
@Mike good point. never liked em
@Mike We’ll try asking LG to do that next time, but we can’t promise anything.
