Mong Kok Mondays: Hitting Kowloon For the Latest and Greatest Gadgets

Another new semi-regular column at Neonpunch is Mong Kok Monday, a complimentary column to our Wan Chai Wednesdays column where we wander around the shopping mecca that is Mong Kok and bring you back the latest and greatest that we find.
While loyal Apple followers patiently wait for the arrival of their rumoured mobile tablet PC, South Korean computer maker Viliv has a couple of affordable models already on the market. The S5 and X70 EX ultra mobile tablet PCs each feature a Intel Atom 1.33Ghz Z520 Silverthorne processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and SIM card slot.

The S5 sports a 4.8 inch screen and comes with 1GB of 533Mhz DDR2 ram and a 1.8 inch 60GB hard drive
Viliv X70 EX

The X70 EX a 7 inch screen and comes with 1GB onboard DDR2 ram, 32GB solid state hard drive, SD card slot and a 1.3M camera.
The S5 sticker price is HK$5,888, while the larger X70 EX costs HK$6,898. A spare battery will set you back HK$546-580, and the leather carry pouch HK$390.

Or, for those looking for a cheaper alternative to an iTouch for their music/video on the go needs, check out Ainol’s new 8GB 5 inch touch screen Personal Media Player (PMP) the V8000HDG.
