Nokia Charger Recall Doesn’t Affect Hong Kong
To play it safe, have a look at this if you own a Nokia phone.

Nokia has initiated a charger exchange program in some markets around the world like the US and Canada. This program does not impact China and Hong Kong as none of the specific models of chargers within the scope of this program have been sold domestically here. However, ironically, these faulty chargers were made by a third-party company supplier called BYD Electronics in China.
The Charger Exchange Program only applies to a limited number of chargers of certain models that have different plugs and pins to those used in China and Hong Kong. You can see images of what you are looking for at the Nokia site, but affected chargers are those manufactured by BYD between June 15, 2009 and August 9, 2009 and with the following model types:
- AC -3U
- AC-3E
and those manufactured by BYD between April 13, 2009 and October 25, 2009 and with the following model type
- AC-4U
If you have purchased a charger in another country and want to check if their chargers are part of this exchange program, visit: http://chargerexchange.nokia.com
Nokia recommends consumers with chargers within the scope of this exchange program stop using the charger and exchange it for a free replacement. Please contact Hong Kong careline at 2136 6338 for any consumer enquiries.
The Times is reporting that Nokia is in fact recalling 14 million phone chargers, so play it safe.

I was going to say “safer to buy an iPhone” but I think Apple also had this same problem.
