Prada Unveils New Fall/Winter 2011 Menswear Collection in Hong Kong

The new line of menswear entirely redefines the modern male silhouette.

With broad shouldered upper-garments topping form fitting trousers Prada is introducing a powerful ultra-modern contrasting body shape.

Possibly the most exciting part of the collection is the use of new materials.  Prada combines heavy traditional materials like gabardine with brand new cutting edge Japanese light fabrics both of which offer a contrast to suede and stretch jersey.

The color choices are equally contrasted with gray tones along side pastels and bright metallics. Also prevalent is the use of Jacquard knitwear with its trademark geometric patterns and emphasis on metallic yarns.

What we feel will be the collection’s biggest hit is the new bag, a sleek and modern utilitarian bag inspired by the bags pilots carry inflight. Its severe lines and boxy silhouette is a welcome respite from the all too prevalent man-purse.  Also, it would seem that according to Prada boots are back in style.
