Samsung’s newest HDTVs boasts better performance while going greener. That’s what the LED iDTVs are all about.

Instead of the traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL), these new HDTVs are lit mainly by LEDs. Not only do LEDs consume less power, but they also produce darker blacks, and they use up less space. Samsung was able to cut down the size of these TVs to only 29.9mm, which is just a little over an inch. Now, you’ll be able to redefine the “slim” compared to when you saw the first flat-screen TVs.

The new LED iDTVs come in 3 different series– 6000, 7000, and 8000 series, ranging a variety of sizes. The 8000 series offer a blazing-fast 200Hz Motion Plus technology, while the 6000 and 7000 series offer a still-good 100Hz Motion Plus technology. This ensures that you’ll be able to catch every moment of the fast-action pictures in sports.

These new HDTVs also offer a greatly-enhanced wall mounting solution. You can  now reduce the gap between the TV and the wall to only 15mm, compared to the traditional bulky 2 inches of space.

Both the 6000 and 7000 series are available in 40″, 46″, and 55″ sizes, while the 8000 series is available in 46″ and 55″ sizes. The prices for the HDTVs are:

  • 6000 Series: 40″- HK$22,080, 46″- HK$27,680, 55″- HK$38,980
  • 7000 Series: 40″- HK$24,380, 46″- HK$28,880, 55″- HK$40,880
  • 8000 Series: 46″- HK$35,680, 55″- HK$49,880

For detailed tech specs, you can find them on Samsung’s website.
