Jim Carrey is back in a new comedy in February 2009.

Yes Man

Those suffering from Jim Carrey withdrawal since his last pure comedy in 2003’s Bruce Almighty, will be happy to see him create magic again with his latest film, which will no doubt cause big laughs based on the trailer alone and a return to form.

Although the USA gets this film this weekend, Hong Kong needs to wait till after Chinese New Year as movie lovers will experience the power of a single word with the latest Warner Bros. flick “Yes Man” co-starring Zooey Deschanel and Bradley Cooper.

The story revolves around a depressed man, Carl Allen (Jim Carrey), who transforms his life by saying “yes” to everything after he joins an inspirational self-help program. The positive vibes of the word “Yes” unleashes the inner power of Carl and with dramatic twist and turns it changes his attitude towards life.

It opened a whole new world full of opportunities to him. He got promoted at the work, won $45,000, met a hypnotic dog, acquired a nursing degree, a chance to see the world, and above all, a new romance in life, with of course a twist in the tale.

Zooey Deschanel, who plays the character of Renee Allison, the love interest of Carl lends a spirited and heart wrenching support throughout the film. Bradley Cooper plays the character of Peter, Carl’s best friend.

Jim Carrey, with his trademark sensible timing for comedy acts carries the film and its strong positive message. With his typical rubberface antics he adds new dimensions to the film with its punch lines and one liners that leave the audience laugh their hearts out and leaving greater impressions on their minds.

The film delivers a very strong optimistic message laced with a good and honest laugh.
