Smartone-Vodafone iPhone 4 Launch Takes Over IFC Mall
2,000 iPhanatics got in line for SMV’s launch.

Definitely the biggest launch in Hong Kong tonight is Smartone-Vodafone which invited 2000 of their customers down to IFC Mall to pick up their iPhone 4‘s.
The line stretched from the overpass that connect the IFC to Shun Tak Centre – and at around 10:30pm the lines started to fill the mall with cordoned off zones so that people could be inside and inch closer to the final destination: the temporary Smartone-Vodafone shop where Harlan’s used to be on the 2nd floor.
2000 people in the IFC Mall? Crazy as it sounds, thats what happend. SMV was handing out Bonaqua and bags of McDonald’s to the iPhanatics that queued up outside in the humid weather and then snaked around in groups to a long group of SMV staff that helped fill out the paperwork.
Definitely very well organized and like a Disneyland line-up made you feel like you were always moving and entertained with jazz musicans and jugglers.
Here are some photos:
And some video:
and more long-lines:
This one is crazy – the line starts at the entrance to IFC near the Four Seasons hotel and stretched all the way to the Sincere building in Sheung Wan – yes this video is just another line video but it was crazy – we gave up walking not even half way down:

Gotta say SMV had their act together! No celebs no booze just efficient lines getting people their iPhones!
Bravo!
