Sony Ericsson Launches GreenHeart Program With a New Phone
Sony Ericsson is going green with the GreenHeart program.

Right now in the world, everyone’s talking about going “green”. Well, like many other manufacturers, Sony Ericsson is also going to show its support for sustainable development with its new GreenHeart Program. This new program is all about showing Sony Ericsson’s leadership in environmentally-friendly products without compromising on product design and features. They began this off with a new flagship phone– the Sony Ericsson Naite.
As you can see from the picture, this phone doesn’t suffer one bit in terms of looks. Besides sticking to Sony Ericsson’s commitment of eliminating the use of hazardous substances during manufacturing, the Naite will also offer some very “green” features. This includes the included low-power charger– the EP300 GreenHeart Charger. This charger can reduce the overall CO² footprint of the phone by 15%!
Another cool “green” feature of the Naite is its included Ecomate application. This app helps users make greener choices in their life. Also, there is a built-in Carbon Footprint Calculator to help users calculate how much greenhouse gases they’re leaving behind when they take the car.
The Naite won’t be suffering in features in any way. It has all the features you’d expect from a normal mobile phone, such as a built-in 2-megapixel camera, 3G support, etc. It also comes with some extra cool features such as video-calling and a super-long 13 hours and 45 minute talk time! Best of all, it’s made from recycled plastics to help save the environment!
This phone will be available starting in Q3 this year at a currently undisclosed price. However, we don’t expect this phone to cost too much– probably less than HK$2,000.
