Sony Goes for Netbook World Domination, Unveils the Vaio W
Another 1-letter Vaio netbook for you to oogle.
Sony has unveiled in Hong Kong the newest mini notebook, the Vaio W, just a week after announcing the Vaio NW.
The Vaio W looks to be more entry level in that it comes in three vibrant colours – white, pink, and brown – with optional colour-coordinated carrying pouches and mice accessories. The touch pad surface of each colour version shows a geometric pattern, including stars, circles and flowers, imparting a unique nuance for personal taste. The suggested retail price is only HK$3,980, so it would seem style and price are what the Vaio W is all about.
A quick snapshot of its tech specs:
- A high-resolution 1366 x 768 10.1-inch wide display
- 160GB hard disc drive
- Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition operating system.
Pre-ordering for the VAIO W series runs from July 20, 2009 at all Sony Style stores, Sony Style website (www.sonystyle.com.hk) and Sony tele-sales hotline at 2345-2966. A special bundling package with a matching colour carrying pouch (VGP-CPW1/S, /T, /P) sells for HK$4,080.
