If you’re an Android user then you’re probably already waiting for the new OS update called Ice Cream Sandwich – and most likely because of AsiaD – with many Google executives in Hong Kong this week; it seems like the perfect place to launch after a week’s delay out of respect for the passing of Steve Jobs.
We’re also expecting the Samsung phone to rival the iPhone 4S to be unveiled today as well: the Nexus Prime.

Get your tickets soon this is going to be big.

We’ve been covering the upcoming AsiaD conference coming to Hong Kong in October ever since we had a chance to dim sum with Walt Mossberg and Kara Swisher at the China Club back in January.
Now the fruits of their labor are coming to a head this October as the AllThingsD conference gets an Asia make-over and they’re bringing some of the biggest tech players along with them!

The first Android tablet from Lenovo unveiled.

On Tuesday Lenovo Hong Kong launched the IdeaPad Tablet K1 an Android 3.1 powered tablet device making it one of a handful that uses the Honeycomb OS.

We spend a morning with HTC’s first Android tablet.

HTC invited us over to their Hong Kong offices earlier this week to have some private time with their new Android tablet: the HTC Flyer.
Granted we only spent an hour with it, and the final ROM build was not yet finalized we had enough time to give some thoughts on the device and to give you some idea whether or not this will be your next Android device.

Huawei unleashes a powerful Droid upon Hong Kong.

Huawei has been the supplying “No Frills” handsets to mobile phone providers for a few years now and in the last six months has decided to step out of the shadows and into the limelight and start selling their phones under their own name. Making a big splash Huawei recently launched the IDEOS X5 a Android 2.2 smartphone targeting the mid-range handset market.
The X5 features 3.8” WVGA (480 x 800 pixels) TFT capacitive multi-touch screen with easy-to-use SWYPE input. The phone sports a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash. The X5 also supports Geo-tagging and HD video recording at 720p.
