Iron Man Blu-ray

The best movie of 2008 already available in Hong Kong.

One of the great things about piracy in Asia, is that is has forced the big companies to release movies and home video releases at the same time, if not earlier, as in the U.S. That means bragging rights for all you Hong Kong fanboys.

Neonpunch’s pick for best movie of 2008 – Iron Man – is now out on DVD and Blu-ray in Hong Kong. Yes, a whole week before it hits any Wal-Mart or Amazon.com mailbox in the US, and its the full and real deal. So head out onto the streets to pick it up and make sure you get the 2-disc set with special features and more Robert Downey Jr. than you can handle.

We did some quick comparative shopping out there for you and we found a big difference in prices for the 2-disc DVD:

• HMV: HK$319
• Hong Kong Records: HK$298
• Any DVD shop in Mong Kok: HK$255

That’s of course no surprise that MK is the cheapest but that’s a big difference. But some of us just can’t wait to go to Kowloon side and a movie like Iron Man demands full price and beyond for its sheer awesomeness.
