Been waiting for a built-in bluetooth accessory for your iPhone? It feels like we’ve been waiting forever, and Newton Peripherals has answered our prayers – a Bluetooth headset that docks into the iPhone! The MoGo Talk for iPhone is the first Bluetooth headset that can charge with your iPhone.

Simply attach the false-back onto your iPhone and the MoGo Talk clips right in! Beneath the earpiece storage cavity lies a flip-up micro USB jack, allowing users to connect their mobile device to one charger and the earpiece to a separate USB cable without removing the Talk from the phone.

The folding earpiece lays completely flat when stored and charged in the back of your mobile phone, and folds out ergonomically when slipped over your ear.

The iPhone version is available now, with the Blackberry version expected to be released by winter. Both retail at HK$1,000 (US$130) and are available online at at mogostore.com.

The Orb Transforms from Ring to Bluetooth Headset

Wednesday. 23 September. 2009. 9:36 am

Is it a ring, is it a bluetooth headset, or is it something else?

Come January 2010, cleverly-disguised Bluetooth headsets will do more than make you wonder if the guy sitting next to you is talking to himself. Once a futuristic gadget called the Orb hits the markets, you might wonder why he’s talking to his wedding ring.

As a result of a partnership between Hybra Advance Technology and AbsolutelyNew, a whole new Bluetooth headset world is being explored. Designed to be worn around your finger like a ring when not in use, the Orb headset vibrates to indicate an incoming call. All you need to do is remove the ring, twist a hinge, and it sits comfortably over your ear, utilizing bone conduction audio technology to transmit sound without any part of the device entering your ear. The fully waterproof communications innovation is available in ring sizes 4-16.

The basic Orb model is scheduled to launch in January 2010, carrying a price tag of HK$1,000 (US$129). A deluxe edition coming in April will also be available, boasting a special Flexible Organic Light Emitting Diode (FOLED) screen for caller ID and other similar viewing functions! But that’s not all, there’s even a limited edition planned that comes with decorative gemstones—as if wearing a Bluetooth headset on your finger isn’t enough bling already!

Sony Ericsson Slides Into Your Lifestyle With the T715

Tuesday. 30 June. 2009. 10:14 am

A sophisticated slider phone for the Hong Kong lifestyle.

t715

Sony Ericsson releases their T715 slider phone into the market. This phone is obviously for a mid-range market since the features seem to be a bit on the light side compared to the phones we’ve been covering over the past few weeks.

It does look nice and it’s got bluetooth and all the other standard features a mobile phone must have these days:

  • Elegant and compact slider – looks sophisticated no matter what the setting
  • Large keypad and font size – get the most out of your SMS or email management
  • 3G network connection – quick and easy internet browsing
  • Large 2.2” screen – even in direct sunlight
  • Smart desktop and birthday reminders – organize your life in an intuitive way
  • 3.2 megapixel camera with Photo light – perfect pictures no matter what the lighting conditions

The T715 will be available in Hong Kong in Q3 2009. In the video below you get a better idea of the size and exactly who Sony is targeting with this type of phone:

CyberBlue Brings Us the World’s Thinnest Bluetooth Headset

Thursday. 12 March. 2009. 9:40 am

Truly the world’s thinnest headset for you Borg types.

cyberblue_thinnest_bluetooth_headset

Measuring only 49.3mm x 15.8mm x 4mm, it’s the world’s thinnest and one of the world’s smallest bluetooth headsets. CyberBlue recently announced this product in the CeBit 2009 event. Now wouldn’t you want to get your hands on one of those?

Don’t let the size fool you though, as small does not always have to mean less features. Inside the 4mm aluminum casing is the latest CVC echo and noise cancelling technologies to ensure that you can enjoy your calls in crystal clear quality even in the noisiest environments.

It’s amazing how much this little thing can hold, as it also holds quite a quite impressive battery. It features up to 3 hours of talk time and 50 hours of standby time. When you run out of battery, simply plug the 4-pin USB into your computer for recharging!

Regarding the price, we have not found any official prices on this yet, but we estimate that it would not be too expensive. For now, you can follow up with the product on CyberBlue’s website.

Sony Ericsson to Release ANOTHER Walkman Phone

Wednesday. 25 February. 2009. 9:18 am

w395You’ve probably seen at least 10 phones that look almost exactly like the one above. Well, Sony Ericsson just kept releasing new Walkmans. Unlike before, the upcoming Walkman W395 will not promise any new features. Seriously, to us, it looks just like a slider version of the W302. This time, however, Sony Ericsson promised something totally different– “the cheapest Walkman slider to date”.

Like most other Walkman phones, the W395 is going to be a great music player. We expect the quality of the music on this phone to be just as great as the other Walkman phone if not better. It comes on a bright 2″ screen which is enough for music lovers, but is definitely not suited for those that want to watch videos on it. It also comes with a 2 megapixel camera and a 1GB M2 memory card which is enough for most users. Please note that something this phone doesn’t have is 3G support.

Here are the tech specs in a easier-to-read form:

  • Network: GSM/GPRS/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900
  • Form Factor: Slider, 96 x 47 x 14.9 mm, 96 grams
  • Screen: 2″, 176 x 220, 262,144 colour TFT, scratch-resistant
  • Camera: 2 megapixel, 2.5x digital zoom, video recording supported
  • Connectivity: Stereo Bluetooth, modem, usb
  • Memory: 10MB internal, supports M2 cards, 1GB M2 card included
  • Battery: 8 hour talk/ 20 days standby
  • Misc: Motion sensor for gaming

It’s a good phone, but what we don’t like is that it doesn’t offer anything special. Sony Ericsson has wayyyy too many Walkman phones in its line that are almost exactly the same. They really need to come up with something different!

Anyhow, the release date and price have not been released yet. However, we estimate that it will be available in Hong Kong in the first or second quarter for about only HK$1000. The price definitely makes this phone a great bang for the buck! Check out more details on Sony Ericsson’s website!
