We just finished a special virtual press conference with Nokia, and although they were leaked online faster than spoilers to a Transformers movie, we are still happy to show to you these new XpressMusic phones from Nokia:
Nokia 5730 XpressMusic
The 5730 you see above and below is Nokia’s first music-optimized device to offer a full QWERTY keyboard. The homescreen provides access to music, people, games, email and calendar and provides direct access to music, N-Gage and other applications, like Facebook, Photos, Ovi Contacts, Maps, messaging and more.
It even has dedicated gaming keys to keep their N-Gage gaming concept alive and comes preloaded with N-Gage games.
The Nokia 5730 XpressMusic is expected to begin shipping in the third quarter of 2009 for an estimated retail price of a very affordable HK$2750.
Nokia’s big smartphone for 2009, already on pre-order??!
Talk about jumping the gun! A company called Expansys is now accepting pre-orders for this Summer’s major smartphone release from Nokia, the E75. A phone that Nokia hasn’t even started promoting yet.
According to the leaked specs, the phone seems pretty decent in terms of functionality. Like most modern phones, it’s a Quad Band phone (1900/1800/900/850) and supports Dual Band HSDPA (2100/900). It has a 2.4″ screen with a relatively adequate 240×360 resolution. It also has a handy full QWERTY keyboard that slides out on the side. There is a decent 3.2 mega-pixel camera which features auto-focus and LED flash. With the camera, users will also be able to make video recordings at a decent 30fps. Other features of the phone includes WiFi, FM radio, a 3.5mm jack for your headphones, Bluetooth 2.0, and an A-GPS module.

This phone is expected to release March 25, 2009. The price which hasn’t been formally determined but that Expansys is charging is about HK$4125 without a plan. As stated before, you can already pre-order this phone from Expansys if you just can’t wait. We’ll have Hong Kong local buying details as soon as Nokia Hong Kong let’s us know.

Nokia announces the N97, but is it enough to fight off the competition?
Nokia finally has thrown down against the iPhone, Blackberry, Xperia X1 and other smarphones withthe launch of N97. This slider-phone with a tilting touch display redefines mobile Internet in “connecting people”. But does it have what it takes to make a dent in the current mobile marketplace?

Nokia’s ‘Touch to Music’ party to commemorate Xpress launch.
Nokia is all set to launch its new 5800 XpressMusic phonein Hong Kong on December 29th. The stage was set with a pulsating Touch to Music Party at The Watermark. The party was hosted by DJ Chu Fun and Donald of ‘I Love You Boyz’ fame. Celebs who were present at the party were pop singers William Chan, Raymond Lam and the non-nude half of Twins: Charlene Choi.
Nokia throws their hat into creating the ultimate music-savvy mobile phone with the 5800 transforming user interface to human interface with its touch screen technology. The built-in surround sound stereo speakers offer flawless sound quality. You can store almost 12,000 tracks with its 16GB memory, watch preloaded movies, and download other favorite movies and music. Internet surfing is supported with download of Flash content too – a plus for the iPhone crowd.
The quick handwriting recognition feature is the highlight of this 3.2”-wide touch screen phone. You can switch between Japanese, English, traditional Chinese and simplified Chinese. It also has a 3.2-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens for producing amazing pictures.
Nokia are launching the 5800 MusicXpress in Hong Kong in the fourth quarter of 2008. Although it looks very “iPhoney” it’s probably more “iPody” in its execution as the name of the game for the 5800 is “music.”
The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic will be among the first devices to offer one year of unlimited access to the entire Nokia Music Store catalogue.
Taking advantage of touch screen technology, the ‘Media Bar’, a handy drop down menu that provides direct access to music and entertainment, including favourite tracks, videos and photos. It also supports surfing the web with Flash content!
