The Superbowl teased, now you can see more accelerator suit goodness.
The new G.I. Joe movie trailer is above. Our take is that it looks very cool, albeit the effects look a bit unfinished in that they don’t look as blended with the background as you usually see. But no matter how it turns out, it has space, snow, underground scenes, ninja fighting, chesty Baroness shots and any movie that destroys the Eiffel Tower has our attention. We don’t have a date yet for this in Hong Kong, but it opens on August 7th in the States.
And just in case you were too busy watching Swine Flu updates in Wan Chai, here is the full Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen trailer as well:
Now here are some Transformers toys we can get behind.
TakaraTomy is releasing 5 new Transformers Device Label toys to co-incide with the big Summer tentpole: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. But these Transformers turn into USB devices!
Blaster (the robot above) turns into a USB hub. Dinobot & Overkill turn into laser mice. Ravage & Tigatron turn into 2GB flash memory sticks. See the rest here at TFw2005.com. US Dollar prices range around US$60, but we’re probably looking at something half of that here in Hong Kong.
Bow down before Megatron with the official phone of the Decepticons.
To promote the next big movie, LG and DreamWorks partnered up and announced a limited Transformers edition of the LG Versa. The sequel to the original Transformers movie, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, will be released June 25 in Hong Kong, and most other countries around the world.
This phone will be a special edition of the LG Versa touchscreen phone. Though the phone is not quite as transformable as those Transformers dudes, it’ll still be able to flip open to reveal a QWERTY keyboard for texting. Also, LG even plans to release addons to this phone, such gamepads for games, to add to the “transformability” of this phone.
We doubt it’ll have any new features except for the new skin in comparison to the original LG Versa, so we’ll show you the specs of the LG Versa:
Network: 1900/800MHz CDMA/EV-DO
Display: 3″ 480 x 240 Pixels, 262K Color TFT LCD, touchscreen; 120 x 56 pixels OLED external display
Form Factor: Flip
Camera: 2 mega-pixels, autofocus, flash
Memory: microSD card slot
Connectivity: Stereo Bluetooth, 2.5mm headset jack, USB
Battery: 1100mAh Li-Ion, up to 290 minutes talk, up to 430 hours standby
Misc: attachable QWERTY keyboard, HTML browsing, accelerometer
Unfortunately, this phone is currently only available in the U.S. from Verizon in the CDMA network. However, we do expect this phone to arrive in Hong Kong some time. We have no details as to the release date or pricing at this point, but what we could tell you is that the original LG Versa is US$200 on a 2-year contract from Verizon, which is not very cheap.
Advance look at what Micheal Bay’s Soundwave will look like on June 24.
Here’s an exclusive look at the new Soundwave (you remember him, the one that transformed into a Sony Walkman) from this Summer’s sequel Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen which comes out in Hong Kong on June 24th in the U.S.
Many Transformers purists won’t even look at these versions of their beloved Autobots and Decepticons, which is fair, since:
the movie Soundwave doesn’t transform into a Walkman or anything similar, but a jet (WTF?)
the fact that the rest of the TF’s don’t look anything like the cartoons or original toys.
Get ready to transform and roll out to a Hong Kong Toys “R” Us, where they will definitely have huge shelf space spotlighting the entire Hasbro line.
There’s a bunch of other Transformers they are showing here at an official Transformers 2 movie blog so have a jump over here and spoil the movie for yourself.
Or better yet have a reason to change your underwear by watching the incredible 30-second Superbowl commercial from this past Sunday:
