Explore being a Horseman of the Apocalypse in Hong Kong.
We were invited to a special preview of Darksiders, a new game for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 at the Dada Bar and Lounge in the Luxe Manor in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Darksiders was created and designed by renowned Marvel Comics artist Joe Madureira (X-Men, Battle Chasers and The Ultimates) and chronicles the battles of War, one of the four Horseman of the Apocalypse, who has been falsely accused of bringing about the early destruction of the world. Now stripped of his powers he must find out the truth and those responsibly for everything.
Developed by THQ, Creative Director of the game Luis Gigliotti, was in Hong Kong to demo the new 3D Sci-Fi Fantasy action adventure game. Luis started his career in the gaming industry as a designer/artist working with cult developer The Neverhood on Earthworm Jim. Since then he has worked as Executive Producer at Rockstar Games, Senior Designer at Angel Studios and now at THQ as Creative Director.
During the demo Luis show off a new game play system called RPG Light that allows you to map items from you vast inventory to the D-pad buttons, giving gamers quick access to other weapons that can be switched to in a middle of a combo for some extra devastating effects.
After the demo model/actress Zoie Tam came out dressed as a female version of the games lead character, War. Speaking as War, she claimed no responsibility for the Apocalypse and hopes that humankind will support her in her quest to find the truth.
The end of the world is coming to consoles and PC next month.
An upcoming science fiction, first-person shooter with various RPG elements and outlandish, cartoony graphics appear to be overrunning us on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms this October with Borderlands. In a hell-torn wasteland similar to Doom or Fallout 3, Borderlands gets you to deal with the trash. Think of a game like Diablo where demons are coming after you but instead of an isometric view…you’re dealing with it in first-person. With amazing graphics. That’s terrifying.
The game will feature four player online co-op (think Left 4 Dead) allowing your friends in arms to conveniently come and go as they please. Players will have access to customizable vehicles and can customize their character. Similar to RPG’s like Diablo, slaughtered enemies will drop equipment which you can then equip yourself with… and fast. There will be 160 different quests with 30 being part of the story line and the rest being side quests.
Other things that will be randomly generated are things like bunkers, towers, caves and enemies hopefully making it truly worth your spending money as the fun might never stop.
The teasing has gone on long enough, the Commando returns to consoles!
We’ve been teased, slapped and grabbed by the brand new Bionic Commando since at least this time last year (the seventh generation console installment in the series, and the sixth game overall following the original arcade game, the NES game, Bionic Commando on Game Boy, Elite Forces, and the enhanced remake of the NES game) and its finally coming out this week for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 (PC version in July) and we can’t wait to play this robotic Spider-Man update from Capcom who will surely dominate the console game buyers hearts quickly (with little competition).
Arm yourself! The 20-year wait is over as the first true sequel to the classic 1988 Nintendo Entertainment System original, Bionic Commando, sees the return of the bionically-enhanced Nathan “Rad” Spencer. Time has not been kind to Spencer. Ten years after his heroic defeat of the Imperials, he is betrayed by the government, and sentenced to death for crimes he didn’t commit.
At this point, who hasn’t seen the trailer – so in keeping with the 20 year theme here is a video look back at this classic Capcom game:
This is just an update for the last guy in HK to download this.

Halo Wars is an upcoming Strategy video game for the Xbox 360 gaming console. It is developed by Ensemble Studios, and will be their last project. The game takes place in the world of Halo, where you can create armies of Spartans, Worthogs, and more to take into combat. In Halo Wars, you can experience the battles of the UNSC and the convenant by playing as either of the two races. When you think you’re good enough, you can go play the Multiplayer Mode where you can challenge up to 5 other people in an online skirmish with the New Xbox Experience. There, you can choose to command the UNSC, Covenant, or an unique civilization, each with their own unique characteristics. You can also use Ancient Forerunner technology to create your unique civilization to gain an advantage in battle.
