Tekken 6: Ready to Smash Hong Kong in the Face

The 6th version of the popular fighting game is on route to HK.

The Xbox360 team invited Neonpunch up to the Microsoft Hong Kong offices for a hard hitting sneak-peek demo of Tekken 6, the newest installment in the 3D fighting franchise from Namco.

The graphics in Tekken 6 are better than ever but even we could keep our eyes off the real-life Tekken girl Norian who was there to help promote the game. Trying hard to concentrate on the actual game, the advanced high definition graphics and 3D animation technologies create the most impressive HD visuals. The game has a huge character roster that includes 34 beloved Tekken fighters returning to the ring for another bout along with six brand new characters.

Tekken 6 includes an online VS mode just like Street Fighter 4 where players can challenge anyone from around the globe, or be challenge by Tekken masters from the four corners of the world.

 

The game has a revamped Tekken Force mode now called the scenario mode where gamers fight their way through stages of bad guys and end bosses. This “Beat ‘em Up” mode can best be described as a 3D version of the classic arcade hit, Final Fight. The mode allows you to team up with a friend online a la Double Dragon style for a good smack down or partner up with AI controlled side kick. The mode also features dynamic, interactive and destructible environments. Punch your enemies through concrete walls or kick them through floors to open a whole new battleground. The stages go through dynamic changes ranging from a sudden attack helicopter crash to vehicle explosions!

The game also incorporates the character customization option from Tekken: Resurrection (PSP). This gives players the opportunity to customize their favourite characters any way they want. Change their hairstyles, apparel, fashion accessories, slap on some tattoos or piercings. You can even create your own characters and customize them any way you want. Once you’ve finished your “Project Runway” creation take them online and see if your 3D model is just as catty as the real thing.

Tekken 6 looks to be another great fighting game that you can enjoy at home on the Xbox360 and Playstation 3 on October 27 or on the go with the PSP on November 27.
