Sony-Ericsson brings Hong Kong a great new gaming device and phone: the Yari.

se yari Time to Move Your Body With Sony Ericssons Gesture Gaming! The ultimate phone for gaming is here! Sony Ericsson announced this week the Yari– a phone that supports gesture gaming. A lot like the Wii, you move your body to play the game. However, with the Yari, you can do that without holding a controller!

On top of the gesture games, the Yari also supports traditional accelerometer and button games. The Yari will also incorporate a new games carousel in which you can access all your games from your desktop and to browse and download games from PlayNow.

Besides gaming, the Yari is also wonderful at doing other things, such as playing music with its built-in MP3 player, and snapping high-quality photos with its 5-megapixel camera. Let’s take a look at the specs:

  • Network: GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900, UMTS/HSDPA: 900/2100
  • Form Factor: Slider
  • Display: 2.4″ 240×320 TFT display
  • Camera: 5-megapixel, autofocus, LED flash, face-detection, smile-detection, geo-tagging
  • Memory: 60MB internal, up to 16MB with SDHC card
  • Battery: 1000mAh, up to 10 hours talk, 450 hours standby
  • Misc: Bluetooth 2.0, gesture and motion control, games carousel, A/B gaming buttons

This phone will be released starting in Q4 this year, so there is still a long time to wait. As of now, there are no pricing or any other details. As always, we’ll try to keep you updated when more info comes out.
