Starting today we’re introducing a semi-regular new feature we’re calling Wan Chai Wednesdays, nope this is not about trolling Neptune’s or trying to find the new Fenwick’s – this is about one place in Wan Chai, a virtual mecca for the geek crowd! Yes, we’re talking about the Wan Chai Computer Centre.

We took a gander around the Wan Chai Computer Centre this week to see what cool stuff we could find and these were a few things that caught our proverbial tech third eye.

P-Flip

The P-Flip is a handy iPhone/iTouch/iPod portable docking station that lets you re-charge and sync your “i” device. The thing that really sells this device from Dexim is the multi-functionality of the P-Flip, not only does it fold up to save space it can also act as a back-up battery for when your “i” device is running low on juice and enables you to display your device either vertically or horizontally.

PFlip

Dexim also has a PFlip Clock App that is free for download at the Apple Store that will turn you “i” device into a desktop digital clock.

The P-Flip can be bought separately or you can get the 3 in 1 or 7 in 1 Bundle Pack. The 3 in 1 comes with a Laser-Etched PC case for iPhone 3GS/3G and crystal case for iPod touch 3G/2G. The 7 in 1 bundle included a USB car adapter and Anti-slip car PAD as well as the above mention cases.

You can find the P-Flip at Vertex Pro Limited (Wanchai) Shop 127, Tel: 2259 9193. At present they only have the 3 in 1 bundle for HK$498. If you’re only interested in getting the P-Flip and not the bundled versions VertexPro has a sister shop, Vertex Technology Co., Ltd. (Causeway Bay) that might have it. They are located at Room 1106-1110, 11/f,  Windsor House, 311 Gloucester Road, Causeway Bay, Tel: 2576 4869.

TB1001 Tablet PC

While all the big boys like Apple, Dell and IBM are taking their time with developing a tablet PC, local PC manufacturer SL Tech has already put out an affordably priced 10 inch Touch Screen tablet PC the TB1001. Found at Cyber Pro Computer, shop 210-211, this sleek tablet running Windows XP costs HK3,688. For an additional HK$799 you can upgrade to Win 7.
