Windows 7 Launches in Hong Kong
Flash mobs, charity editions and Ella Koon usher in the new PC OS.

Microsoft Hong Kong released its new operating system Windows 7 in Hong Kong this past Saturday 24th of October. To celebrate they held a special launch event at Times Square, Causeway Bay. Neonpunch was there front row centre to document the event and the fact that the sexy Ella Koon 官恩娜 was there to help promote the new operating system had nothing to do with our devoted attention to this operating system launch.
On hand to demonstrate the new operating system was the seven winners of the “Hong Kong Best Windows 7 Promoters” competition and Mr. Raymond Hung (Microsoft Hong Kong). The group showed a curious crowd of reporters and celebrity guest Ella Koon the unique features of Windows 7.
To help celebrate the event the software giant also held a special charity sale called “Windows 7 HK$377 Charity Offer Day” where 400 lucky people could buy the Windows 7 Ultimate Edition for the bargain price of HK$377 on a first-come, first-served basis. Plus, the first person in line also got an additional free limited Windows 7 Ultimate Edition autographed by Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft.
If you want a rare Microsoft Hong Kong collectible, you’ll want to keep reading:
The lucky first place buyer hiding behind dark sun glasses and a medical mask was invited on stage to hand over his HK$377 to Mr. Peter Yeung, General Manager of Microsoft HK and Ella Koon 官恩娜. The two then presented the disguised man with his Steve Ballmer autographed copy of Windows 7 Ultimate Edition to the chants of a crowd of local reporters telling him to unmask himself. However the mystery man ignored them and politely waved to the cameras and left with the prize of the day. Who says everyone wants to be a celebrity?
The money raised from the charity sale was donated to the Hong Kong Sports Institute to support local athletes in technological disciplines. Top-notch sports athletes including wheelchair fencing athlete Yu Tsui Yee, rowing athletes Law Hiu Fung and Lee Ka Man and others, as well as Ms. Margaret Siu, head of Coaching Support Services, Hong Kong Sports Institute, attended the press conference to accept the big cheque from Microsoft HK.

On staying with the Windows 7 theme, Lenovo Hong Kong also sent us this video on how the SimpleTap system works with Windows 7 and their brand of touchscreen laptops an exceptionally-engineered hardware and software experience that achieved the Windows 7 Lenovo Enhanced Experience certification:
Finally, Microsoft Hong Kong also gave us this cool, limited edition CI Boys figure – and after much internal debate, we’ve decided to give it to our readers:

All you have to do is post a comment about one feature you are the most excited about in Windows 7 and we’ll randomly draw a winner and send it to you. Contest is on from now till November 13.

The one feature I care about most is the improved performance
Definitely the new Task Bar is what I think is the best new feature since I will probably be using it the most.
Definitely excited about the Task Bar I’ve been using in Win7 RC1… improved stability over Vista will be welcomed as well.
I think, after a lot of thought, that the best could be that it is not Vista. Original, I know.
I love Snap!… and I Snap, and Snap every hour or so!
