‘The Wolfman’ Howls at Hong Kong in February
| February 18, 2010 |
Updating the classic hairy monster in time for Valentine’s Day?
First, we saw Dracula remade by Francis Ford Coppola, then we saw Kenneth Branagh cast Robert DeNiro as the Monster in Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein, and now Benecio Del Toro gets ready to get really hairy as The Wolfman when it growls at Hong Kong on February 11th. 18th
Inspired by the classic Universal film that launched a legacy of horror, The Wolfman brings the myth of a cursed man back to its iconic origins. Oscar winner Benicio Del Toro stars as Lawrence Talbot, a haunted nobleman lured back to his family estate after his brother vanishes. Reunited with his estranged father (Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins), Talbot sets out to find his brother…and discovers a horrifying destiny for himself.
Spooky stuff, so it’s surprising it’s being released right near Valentine’s Day, but this probably makes a lot more sense so close to the Lunar New Year. Have a look at the trailer below and let us know what you think:
