ZAGG: From Ultimate Gadget Protection to Award Winning Z.Buds
Wow, so much stuff for a pair of earbuds. Just how great is this?

If you’ve ever heard of ZAGG’s famous InvisibleShield gadget protectors, then you’ve got to hear about their new Z.Buds. These in-ear earbuds even won the 2009 CES Innovations Design Award!
Okay, since we were so excited about these earbuds, we even got ZAGG to send us a pair! From what you can see, the earbuds come in a big package. Included are 6 sets of different earbud ear-pieces to ensure that you’ll find the one that feels the best in your ear. Also included is a small ZAGG bag, so you can bring your earbuds wherever you go.
When it comes down to the real question– how good these earbuds sound– ZAGG showed some decent results. When playing at a high volume, these produced barely any distortion, unlike the loud audible sound you can hear from the earbuds that came with your iPod. The clarity of the music is great, comparable with the lower end Shure earbuds. Also, the bass in this thing really kicks in– almost too much, in fact. We had to lower the bass a little in the equalizer in order to get the most favorable sound in the Z.Buds. However, if you’re a bass freak, then you probably won’t mind. As for the comfort, these earbuds fit snugly inside your ear canal
As for the noise-cancelling feature, we weren’t too impressed by these. However, it does shut out some outside noise if you get a tight seal in your ear canal. Also, one minor thing we found missing in these earphones is the left and right labels for each earbud. It’s not that important, but it would be great if it had the labels like the other earbuds out there. Just for your information, the left one is the one with the microphone!
Overall, we were quite impressed by ZAGG’s first dive into the audio world. These earphones definitely sound great and are a great bargain at US$79.99/HK$620. You purchase them directly from ZAGG’s website.
